This open level workshop will cover an overview of some of the most popular 12-beat flamenco forms and compare similarities and differences in structure and accompaniment. Be a compás detective and discover the rich and unique rhythms of flamenco! Suitable for flamenco dance, guitar, and singing students.

Sevillanas Refresher Workshops – with Amity Skala

Flamenco Tapas (mini-workshops) – July 2-15, 2024
These workshop are the perfect time to sample a new aspect of flamenco and expand your learning!
Location: #5-3948 Quadra Street
- Cante & Palmas 6:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays – with Veronica Maguire: Singing and clapping will be covered in this fun open level workshop! No experience necessary to learn some flamenco songs.
- Castanets 7:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays – with Veronica Maguire: Some flamenco dance experience is recommended to fully enjoy this open level class. Playing castanets is a popular and exciting element to add to your flamenco dancing. This is the perfect chance to learn how to play and improve your skills!
- Introduction to Bulerias 5:00-6:00 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays – with Amity Skala: Suitable for Elementary level dancers and those who have completed a Beginner level session with Flamenco Victoria. This workshop will focus on the basics of this fun fiesta dance style.
- Footwork Bootcamp 6:00-7:00 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays – with Amity Skala: Suitable for Intermediate or Intermediate/Advanced dancers who want to build speed and stamina through repetitive footwork drills.
- Choreography Clinic 7:00-8:00 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays – with Amity Skala: This class will be part theory and part dance practice and will include techniques and tips on selecting steps, planning music/accompaniment, and creating a choreographic plan to bring your artistic vision to life. There will be some dance examples given, so dancers should have a working understanding of compás, remates, and llamadas in addition to some basic marking steps. Recommended for Intermediate level and higher, or Elementary dancers who love a challenge!

This is one of the most beautiful flamenco forms! Extra fans will be available to use if you don’t have one of your own. - Advanced level Caña 6:30-8:00 p.m. Discover the majesty and depth of this soulful dance.
July 27 $55 per-workshop
- Elementary and Intermediate level Fandangos 1:00-2:30 p.m. Learn this classic and versatile flamenco dance!
- Intermediate and Advanced Final del baile 2:30-4:00 p.m. The dance ending taught will be suitable as an ending for either the Guajiras or Caña taught in the Thursday and Friday workshops.
Take the full Thursday-Saturday workshop (all classes July 25-27) for $300 (9 hours of instruction and you save $30)!

Flamenco Victoria Community Class (Special discount lesson!) – July 26 at 5:30-6:30 p.m.

This special workshop class is priced for accessibility! Choose the price option that works for you and sample the dynamic Spanish dance form of flamenco with one of Flamenco Victoria’s exceptional teachers. Classes are open to adults new to flamenco in good physical condition. No experience needed!

Summer Flamenco Intensive – August 26-30, 2024 (Monday-Friday immersion course) – with Amity Skala

Get in shape for fall classes with this 1-week flamenco intensive. This is the perfect time to start flamenco or hone your skills to take your dancing to the next level. The week will be a flamenco immersion and tailored to the level and interests of the attending students.

- Level 2 technique Intermediate and Intermediate/Advanced 6:00-7:00 p.m.

Celebrate Dance Victoria’s Dance Days with Flamenco Victoria, your local studio dedicated to the art of Spanish dance instruction!
These FREE 1-hour classes are open to adult dancers who are new to flamenco dancing and want to sample a class at Flamenco Victoria. No experience needed. Challenge yourself with some fun new moves! Registration required.

Please wear comfortable clothing that you can move in and low-heeled dress or dance shoes with a hard sole. A solid heel and closed-toe are best.
